Will Hamady N'Diaye Make the Wizards Roster?

Some of this stuff is still a little new to me but here’s a little more on the Hamady N’Diaye situation as the rookie center awaits his tender from the Washington Wizards. The deadline is September 5 – and to be frank, it would be a huge surprise if N’Diaye didn’t receive a tender on time. Nevertheless, the summer hasn’t exactly gone as planned, as I posted yesterday.

I had read earlier that N’Diaye would likely be cut from the Wizards and had a European squad ready to pick him up. Not sure if that still happens or not.

If Washington wanted to sign Hamady and send him to the D-League for a while, I’d have no problem with that, considering he’d play for a minimum salary. If they signed him to play on the roster this season, I’d be shocked and upset. Hamady seems like a nice guy and a good locker room presence, but he’s too raw right now to make any contribution at the pro level. Plus, the Wizards already have JaVale McGee, Kevin Seraphin (who will more than likely be playing in the NBA this season), and Hilton Armstrong, all raw and unproven.

I’m still very open to signing a veteran big man to give these guys some pointers. Probably won’t happen, but it’d be the smart move.
