Training Camp News

The Wizards have finally decided to at least consider adding a veteran center. Of course, he’s not exactly a bruiser like I was hoping…

Veteran big man Sean Marks has accepted an invitation to try out for the Wizards, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. Marks, a 6-foot-10 center from New Zealand, has career averages of 3.0 points and 2.3 in a 10-year career in Toronto, Miami, San Antonio, Phoenix and New Orleans, where the 35-year-old spent the past two seasons.

In other news, Hamady N’Diaye was signed to a contract tender but he might end up playing in Europe next season anyway. I’m glad we didn’t let him walk away completely.

Also, Michael Lee is reporting that the Wizards extended two more training camp invitations, to Cartier Martin and Lester Hudson. I’d say both guys have a pretty decent shot at making the final roster if they perform well. I’ll be sure to keep the updates coming as training camp gets underway.
