The Wizards are defeated on the road, sporting an 0-10 record away from the Verizon Center. That first elusive win has to come sooner or later though, and I’ve pinpointed the date: December 8, 2010, against the Sacramento Kings.
I know, I know, not the toughest pick to make. The Kings are as bad as the Wizards thus far, with a record of 4-14. But sometimes the weak must pick on the weaker, and the Kings are currently riding a seven game losing streak (could be eight if they fall to the Clippers tonight). Sac-Town is also an unimpressive 2-9 on the road, and have been struggling to play cohesive basketball as of late.
I foresee a monster performance from John Wall, and Gilbert Arenas should do well against Beno Udrih. My only source of concern is in the post–DeMarcus Cousins could have a field day against Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee.
The Wizards will be playing the Kings as part of a back-to-back roadtrip (first game is tomorrow against the Lakers), making this an even more important challenge for this young Washington squad. They need to show resilience and the ability to not only win a game on short rest, but do it away from home.
