Good news, Wizards fans: John Wall has been chosen to participate in the Skills Challenge during All-Star weekend. The rest of the participants are Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, and Derrick Rose.
That’s some tough competition, but John has as good a chance as anyone if (and it’s a big if) he can knock down his jumpshot. Wizards fans know that when Wall is feeling confident, he has a pretty solid jumper. But if he gets nervous in Los Angeles, I’m worried he will struggle mightily.
I’m really excited for John and the Wizards organization this weekend. No, the Wiz aren’t sending any All-Stars to the game on Sunday, but during a season mired in ugly losing streaks and plenty of struggles, it’s nice to be able to take a step back and just root for J-Wall and Javale McGee to bring home some individual honors. It’ll be a great national stage for the two youngsters, both of whom have high aspirations to someday represent the Wizards as All-Stars themselves.
We’ll especially see plenty of John Wall, who is participating in the Rookies vs. Sophomores game, the aforementioned skills challenge, and will more than likely assist Mr. McGee in the dunk contest. Can’t wait to see what’s to come…
