The Wizards announced this evening that they have re-signed veteran swingman Cartier Martin. The team did not release the terms of the deal, but Michael Lee reported that the deal is for one-year and for the veteran minimum.
In the team’s press release, team president Ernie Grunfeld said:
Cartier has been with our team for parts of the past three seasons and he has always made a positive contribution both on the court and in the locker room. In addition to his three-point shooting touch, he is a good defender and gives us another solid veteran to help solidify our bench.
It’s a good move by the team to bring back their leading three-point shooter in Cartier Martin. However, it remains to be seen how much playing time Martin gets with Trevor Ariza, Bradley Beal, Jordan Crawford and Chris Singleton at the shooting guard and small forward spots.
Now that they’ve re-signed Cartier Martin, will the Wizards re-sign any of their other free agents? The Wizards have expressed interest in re-signing James Singleton, Maurice Evans, and Roger Mason.
The Wizards now have 13 players under contract, including Andray Blatche.
