Wizards Cut Shelvin Mack; Sign Garrett Temple for Remainder of the Season

For the second time this season, the Washington Wizards have cut Shelvin Mack. Consequently, the Wizards have signed Garrett Temple for the remainder of the season.

Mack did have some decent spurts during his second go around for the Wizards, but didn’t show much improvement since his rookie year. Temple on the other hand, was much more of a pleasant surprise. Averaging close to 7 assists during the past five games, Temple has shown that he not only has the ability to defend, but contributes by distributing the ball to his teammates. I’ll be interested to see where Temple will fit in the lineup once A.J. Price returns to the rotation.

The Wizards roster now stands at 14. As Mike Prada mentioned, it’ll be interesting to see if the Wizards intend to pick up any players following the 5:00 p.m deadline to guarantee contracts.
