We’re still months away from the start of the NBA regular season, and the schedules are all set to be released by this afternoon. According to multiple outlets, the Washington Wizards will be matched up against the Detroit Pistons in their season opener on October 30th. Washington’s first home game will take place against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 1st.
Like Washington, the Detroit Pistons are looking to make a playoff push in the Eastern Conference and have revamped their roster quite a bit this off-season. The Pistons have acquired free-agent Brandon Jennings through a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks and he should be matched up with John Wall.
More schedule notes:
- Washington will have a nationally televised game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 7th. The John Wall-Kyrie Iriving match up should be intriguing, to say the least. Washington’s last national TV game took place in 2010 against the Atlanta Hawks.
- The Wizards will play the Philadelphia 76ers on Martin Luther King Jr. day in the nation’s capital.
- Six of Washington’s first eight games will be taking place on the road. Some notable road games during that stretch include: Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and the Dallas Mavericks
