Report: Otto Porter Hurt in Training Camp

Well, injuries have unfortunently always played a part for the Washington Wizards, and it looks like rookie Otto Porter Jr. has already begun experiencing issues in training camp.

He’s reportedly considered day to day with an issue regarding his hip flexor, so we’ll just have to see what happens.

For the Wizards, injuries have been a common experience and they can’t have another key piece go down prior to the start of the season. Even though the Wizards have a few guys capable of filling the role in Martell Webster and Trevor Ariza, it’s crucial that Porter gets to participate in camp with the team before the season starts. Porter was hurt in Washington’s summer league run, so this certainly isn’t the way we would’ve hoped he started his rookie campaign.

Hopefully this won’t become an issue in Washington. You’d hate to see another “core” player go down to injury, especially since we’re anticipating a playoff bound team.

We’ll keep you updated on Porter’s situation. Let’s hope for the best.
