Links: Wizards Pick Up Win Over Nets In Overtime

There’s nothing better than getting an unexpected ‘W’ against a championship caliber team, and that’s exactly what the Washington Wizards did last night against the Brooklyn Nets at home. Here are today’s Wizardly Links, most of which pertain to last night’s awesome overtime victory:

-Wizards-Nets recap: (via Wiz of Awes)

Speaking of Al Harrington– the veteran stretch four that was brought in to spread the floor for John Wall and Brad Beal did just that tonight. He knocked down 4 three point shots off the bench, and at times, kept the Wizards in the game where it looked like the outcome could become pretty ugly.

- Should the Wizards trade Trevor Ariza now that his value is high?: (via Wiz of Awes)

With that said, the Wizards still have a thin bench and with Martell Webster still playing very well as a reserve, Trevor Ariza could become a valuable trade piece come late February before the trade deadline. If last year gave any indication as to what Ernie Grunfeld and Co. thought of Ariza as an asset, he’ll undoubtedly continue to look for possible landing spots for Ariza and his $7.73 million dollar expiring contract.

This: #SoWizards Twitter recap, collected by Storify, and channeled to a blog post, #Wizards Twitter style. Thanks if you happened to take part.

-Mike Prada of SBNation also pixelated the ‘W': (via Bullets Forever)

It’s hard to comprehend everything that happened in the Wizards’ 112-108 overtime win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. Here’s my best attempt to be Jeff in Magical Pixels.

Defensive Pressure and rotations, trust is developing, Beal, Wall, Ariza, Webster, Maynor are keeping guys in front, denying penetration, finding shooters, helping and recovering…..Better

That’s it for Saturday’s Wizardly Links.

Hopefully this will be the first of many positive blog posts summarizing awesome victories.
