Even though losses tend to spoil the positive things that happened during the game, Bradley Beal still managed to shine against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night.
Scoring a career-high 34 points in a sold out Chesapeake Energy Arena, Beal put his improved scoring ability on full display by willing the Wizards to an overtime game against one of the league’s most intimidating teams. Although the spotlight is usually consumed by Kevin Durant and Russell Wesbtrook, Bradley Beal’s efforts didn’t go unnoticed as he scored the ball in virtually every way possible.
He’s obviously known for his ability to shoot beyond the three point arc, but unlike this past season, Beal didn’t hesitate to shoot the ball off the dribble or dazzle the crowd with a few nifty layups. Bradley Beal 2.0 showed up last night and proved why he’ll inevitably end up being considered one of the league’s most improved players, even though he’s beginning just his second season in the NBA.
Players don’t usually make such a drastic jump from year one to two, but Beal has surpassed expectations of being merely a jump shooter by becoming one of the Wizards’ main offensive options. In fact, Bradley Beal took and made some clutch shots last night that are usually reserved for the best player on the team.
Enjoy the video, and I can assure you that this will not be the last night Beal performs on an elite level.
