In case you missed it, Martell Webster went down with a sprained ankle yesterday against the Milwaukee Bucks. He didn’t return to the game, but from the looks of it, he could potentially be back against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.
Webster didn’t practice today with the team, but he did do some light shooting.
The Wizards had to rely on Chris Singleton once Webster went down, and the results weren’t pretty. Otto Porter was still limited, and I don’t think he’s ready to play 30+ minutes after sitting out for months with an injured hip. Washington doesn’t have much depth, so having Martell Webster back on Monday would definitely be a pleasant surprise.
Injuries have been all too common for the Wizards and we’re still waiting for an update on Nene, who’s suffering from tendinitis in his foot. He’s also been dealing with some foot injuries and he missed the majority of last night’s game. If prior situations are an indication as to how the Wizards will handle his situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses the next couple games.
All in all, I think this could be placed in the “good news” category. Webster’s injury looked a lot worse than it actually is, and the Wizards could have him back as early as Monday.
