Who would’ve thought good news would come during a Wizards game?
Bradley Beal was reevaluated today after a 2-week rest period, and the team has announced that he’s been cleared for increased basketball activities.
Wizards guard Bradley Beal has been cleared to increase basketball activities after a follow-up MRI exam showed improvement in the stress injury to his right fibula.
Beal, who has missed the last six games prior to tonight, has averaged 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 40.2 minutes over 13 games for the Wizards this season.
Beal went down with a stress injury a few weeks ago, but luckily for the team it was caught in it’s early stage. Washington has been hit with the injury bug this season, so having Bradley Beal back sooner rather than later is definitely a positive note.
Beal led the NBA in minutes per game, and there’s been lots of speculation about whether or not it contributed to the injury. I expect Beal to be back in the coming weeks, but I don’t expect him to lead the league in minutes again this season. Otto Porter and Glen Rice Jr. have gotten extended minutes since Beal went down, and they could be used more frequently off the bench.
Good news, Wizards fans. Enjoy the second half of Wizards-Nuggets.
