Slam Dunk Contest participants: East: Terrence Ross, Paul George, John Wall; West: Damian Lillard, Harrison Barnes, Ben McLemore

Akbar Naqvi:

The East dunkers will win and Paul George will win Dunker of the Night (mainly because he’s a basically a superstar and all fans will know his name)

Prediction: Paul George/East

________

Ben Mehic:

I haven’t been excited about the dunk contest in quite some time, but I think the NBA did a good job in selecting players that are actually going to bring out the best of competition. Although the format is a bit different than in past All-Star games, this year’s dunk contest really has potential to be great. Damian Lillard and Ben McLemore are going to have to get really creative to top Paul George or Terrence Ross, and I think John Wall has the showmanship to really impress some people on Saturday. With that said, I’ll be a homer and pick John Wall to win dunker of the night.

Prediction: John Wall/East

________

James Straton:

The East will win this contest. Mark it down. The East has all of the star power here with the best player on the team with the second best record in the league (George), a former number one overall pick making his All-Star debut (Wall), and a previously little known second year shooting guard who dropped 50 on the Clippers (Ross). Couple that with the fact that they’re also the better dunkers and you have an easy win on the way.

Prediction: East

________

Omar Ajmeri:

The East has two of the three all-stars participating in the Dunk Contest, and we’ve seen Paul George and John Wall both throw down some impressive dunks this year. Terrence Ross could be seen as the wildcard, but he has won it before and will continue to impress people. Lillard, McLemore, and Barnes have each had some great in-game dunks as well, but in this contest of athleticism, the East will win hands down.

Prediction: East
