The Washington Wizards haven’t played on national television in about three years and the NBA Playoffs are certainly an interesting return to the big stage. Their inexperience has been well documented, noting the playoff debut of John Wall and Bradley Beal, but Washington has added enough veteran talent to give themselves a chance against the offensively inept Chicago Bulls. They’ve beaten the Bulls two of the three times they met during the regular season, losing once without Nene, and they’ve shown they’re capable of upsetting Chicago.
John Wall and Bradley Beal have the chance to become household names in this series, especially if they take advantage of their match ups and not fall into the mid-range jump shot trap. Wall and Beal will definitely have the advantage over Kirk Hinrich and D.J. Augustin, so now it’s just a matter of matching Chicago’s intensity and not settling for tough outside shots like they’ve been prone to doing lately.
Nevertheless, tonight’s game will certainly be exciting for both fan bases, but especially the Wizards’. For the first time since 2008, Washington is back on the big stage.
