It’s been a long time since the Washington Wizards have advanced past the first round of the NBA Playoffs, but they’ll have a chance to do that just tonight against the Chicago Bulls. After securing a home win on Sunday, the Wizards are up 3-1 in the series against the Bulls, and with two wins on the road already, Washington has a legitimate shot at getting a second round spot tonight.
If tonight’s game is anything like the four prior match ups, you won’t want to miss it. Here’s how you could catch the game.
I honestly didn’t think the Wizards would have a chance to move up to the fifth seed, ultimately matching up against the Bulls, prior to the beginning of the season. Most NBA pundits had the Wizards losing to Chicago in 5, 6 or 7 games, but it looks like Washington has flipped the script.
With Nene back in the lineup, Washington will be at full strength and will undoubtedly look to hit Chicago right out of the gate. Nene and Marcin Gortat have been able to get the edge over Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and Taj Gibson throughout the series, and if that continues tonight, the series could very well come to an end tonight.
Chicago hasn’t been able to keep up with Washington’s guards, especially on the offensive side of the floor, and they’ll need someone to step it up in the scoring department. Kirk Hinrich, D.J. Augustin, Mike Dunleavy and Jimmy Butler have all been pretty inconsistent and the Bulls are desperately seeking some scoring.
Could Washington finally advance to the second round tonight? I guess we’ll just have to tune in.
