Will Bynum:

We go from one CBA star to another. Will Bynum ran point for the Guangdong Southern Tigers this season – playing alongside former Wizard Yi Jianlian – and averaged 22 points and 7 assists in leading his squad to a 34-4 record.

Unlike Brown, Bynum actually has an extensive NBA track record, having played six years as the backup point guard for the Detroit Pistons. Undersized but usually pretty competent, Bynum always seemed to step up big against the Washington Wizards – in fact, he dished out 20 assists against DC one night in March 2010.

He’s capable in his role, but his size (listed at 6-foot even) and lack of shooting ability (28.0% from 3-point range in his career) limits him. Neither he nor Ramon Sessions can really play off the ball, and while he might be a slight upgrade over Sessions at the backup point spot, he doesn’t really solve a lot of problems for this team.

Pass.
