Washington Wizards: The Team Will Return Next Season – Faster, Stronger and to the Eastern Conference Finals
Mental Roadblock
Washington has played the Celtics so many times, yet they can’t figure out how to beat them in Boston. They haven’t won in Boston since 2014.
One could also argue, Boston hasn’t figured out how to beat the Wizards in Washington either. But Boston didn’t need to figure it out this series, because they had homecourt advantage.
I don’t have an answer as to why Washington forgets how to play basketball when they reach Beantown. Again, we need to go old school, with the players of the 80s and 90s, it didn’t matter whose court it was, because the basket does not change.
You unlock that key on how to win on the road, you my friend will be unstoppable.
My only recommendation is that the Wizards hire a consultant or an assistant coach, who can teach them that the road should not change your mindset.
Basketball is 50% mental and 50% talent. If Washington loses the mental aspect on the road, they’re not going to win, plain and simple.
In fact, on the road, the Wizards’ competitive juices should flow even more, not dry up the second they step off the team bus. Hire a consultant and get it together.
