Washington Wizards: 4 observations from scrimmage vs LA Clippers
By Ethan Smith
Someone needs to make a three
The absence of Beal and Bertans hurts the team’s overall scoring, but there may be no bigger hole than the one they left around the three-point shooting.
With those two sidelined, the Wizards are in dire need of a three-point shooter. The Wizards have now played twice inside the bubble. In both of those scrimmages, they made fewer than ten three-point shots. Their opponents, on the other hand, have hit double-digits in both games.
Shabazz Napier looks like the team’s top three-point threat at this point. He’s the only one to have sunk at least two three-point shots in each of the team’s two scrimmages. But don’t tell Thomas Bryant that. Bryant hoisted up seven (!!) three-pointers in the team’s loss to the Clippers. He did make three, but your center probably shouldn’t be leading your team in three-point attempts, even in a scrimmage.
Brown, who was not in action against LA, led the team in three-point attempts vs. Denver. Unfortunately, he only made one of his seven attempts.
