Washington Wizards: Who are the top five point guards to play for the team in recent history? Five writers created a ranking.

As NBA pundits and fans, we constantly try to see how the players stack up against each other.

We’ve heard the arguments: John Wall or Kyrie Irving? Is Wall a top-five point guard in the league? The rankings, amateur and professional, are constantly happening.

Since it’s August and we’ve hit that point in the off-season where only crazy people talk about basketball, we decided to start ranking the Washington Wizards by position. That’s right: we’re no better than the rest of them. Rankings are fun. So don’t take this too seriously.

We’re not historians nor did we get the privilege of watching the early Bullets teams play.

Instead of using Basketball-Reference as our only source, we decided to stick to ranking the players we actually watched in person and on television. Our rankings will consist of players from the 1990’s to present.

We started with the point guard position.

Disagreements between rankings (meaning Wall versus Gilbert Arenas) were settled by vote. Five of us participated. There was a split decision on that one.

Here’s a list of everyone who contributed: Nithin Kuchibhotla (@NKuchibhotla), Osman Baig (@Obtoojiveforyou), David Statman (@DJStatman77), John Cannady (@John_Cannady) and myself (@BenMehicNBA).

Enjoy…
