Washington Wizards players won’t have too much time away from competitive basketball. On June 15th, the schedule for the 2017 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. At least three current players project to be on the team.

Less than three days after the end of the 2016-17 NBA season, teams participating in the summer league, know their schedule for the July basketball tournament. As has been the case since 2015, there will be three summer leagues, in Orlando, Utah, and Las Vegas. Washington will again be participating in the largest of the tournaments in the Sin City.

Summer league teams usually showcase young talent, with players with zero or one year of experience the majority of participants.

The format of the tournament has changed over the years, but the current structure allows for a minimum of five games, three games and then at least two playoff games. You can see the full schedule here.

So who and when will the Wizards be playing.

Washington will be kicking off on July 8th against the Memphis Grizzlies, before playing the Heat on July 10th and the defending champion Bulls on July 11th.

The playoffs will start July 12th and the championship will go off on July 17th.

The majority of players on the Wizards team will comprise undrafted free agents, but fans will still have the opportunity to see young prospects. Sheldon Mac, Daniel Ochefu, and Chris McCullough are all expected to play on the team, in addition to the 52nd pick.

The Wizards have had four pre-draft workouts thus far and should have a number of spots available. It’s safe to imagine that the Wizards will be a top pick for undrafted players, because they don’t have any top prospects who will eat up most of the minutes.
