2. Beating the Bulls in Five Games

No one expected the Washington Wizards to win as the Chicago Bulls were the favorites. ESPN nearly unanimously picked Chicago to win, but after five games the Wizards were moving on.

This was the meaning of a team effort. Every player did their part in this series and had their moments. Bradley Beal stepped up time and time again to make big shots. Nene and Gortat controlled the paint even with the Defensive Player of the Year, Joakim Noah, on the opposing team.

It really was a beautiful thing to watch. The Wizards didn’t just win the series, they WERE the better team and made the 2013-14 season something special and one that they could build on the following year. For the first time in over half a decade, Washington had done something meaningful.

The years spent in the NBA Lottery had finally payed off and the Washington Wizards were finally starting be taken seriously.
