9. The Professor’s Put-back Attempt

Now, even though this play ended up being just a missed dunk attempt and was not counted in the scorebook, it’s my favorite play from the calendar year.

Andre Miller, who plays like that guy from your local YMCA and seems to have the athleticism of a table, nearly slammed home a put-back dunk. If it went in, Minnesota would have been forced to forfeit the game and move, as an organization, to Siberia.

Perhaps my favorite part of this clip is the bench’s reaction. Marcin Gortat and Drew Gooden were shocked by Miller’s hangtime and near slam. Gooden even kicks out his leg in frustration that Miller didn’t finish the play.

It’s just a funny moment in which a 38 year-old, Andre Miller, turned back the clock.
