4. Pierce Signs With The Wizards

I never thought I’d see Paul Pierce wear anything but the Celtic green, which is what made it so odd to see him don the white and black Brooklyn Nets jersey last season.

However, I still can’t fathom Pierce playing with the word “Washington” on his jersey. He may not have that first step that he had in his prime, but he is still a great player in this league and can get any shot on his own accord. But, more important than his game, Pierce brings that veteran and champion wherewithal and leadership that can only help an improving team.

This season the Washington Wizards are winning the games against good teams, but equally as important, they are beating the bad teams. This is always tough for the better teams in the league, waking up for those games against the subpar squads, but it seems that the addition of Pierce has brought a more composed and engrossed attitude.

This was evident after that dominant win over the Cavaliers, when the Wizards played the Milwaukee Bucks. The Wizards may have trailed early but eventually came back for the win and showed that they are one of the better teams in the NBA.
