The Nets are currently in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference, and have been in the middle of trade talks since the beginning of the season.
While Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez have all been in the rumor mill, expect some of their role players to become available near the trade deadline as well.
Alan Anderson has played over 22 minutes per game for the Nets this season, but that could soon change if the Nets make some moves. The 32 year-old swing man has played in just five seasons in the NBA, but provides the scoring punch every NBA contender needs off the bench.
Martell Webster has struggled to contribute since returning from his third back surgery this season, and Otto Porter hasn’t been nearly as consistent as the team hoped.
Anderson isn’t the most efficient player in the league, but players typically improve when playing along side John Wall or Andre Miller. At 6’6″, Anderson is capable of playing both the shooting guard and small forward position.
Anderson signed a two year deal worth $2.6 million this past summer with the Nets, so his contract wouldn’t become a burden.
Every team needs someone that could provide a spark off the bench, and although he’s not a combo-guard, Anderson is a heat-check player.
