The Washington Wizards have had an empty roster spot for months and months and months, with no apparent plan on what to do with it.

The trade deadline yielded nothing. Buyout season has been fruitless. Children are born and grow old, empires rise and fall. The spot remains empty – every now and then, if you really listen, the vacant spot on the Wizards bench whistles with long-forgotten Glen Rice Summer League Memories.

And as of now, Ray Allen will not be walking through that door. If the Wizards are going to add someone, chances are it will be soon.
