Bobby Brown:

Bobby Brown has been one of the names that have been floating around the most in regards to the Washington Wizards’ final roster spot – and if you don’t know who he is, it’s probably because he hasn’t played in the NBA in five years. That’s inspiring!

A middling backup point guard who played 113 total games for four teams in two NBA seasons, Brown exploded back into the public consciousness with some huge performances overseas.

Brown first took a star turn as the leading scorer in the Euroleague for Montepaschi Siena in 2012-13, then balled out in China – he averaged a tidy 31 points and 6 assists a night as the starting point guard for the Dongguan Leopards this season, which really cool and all, but American imports put up gaudy stats in China like nobody’s business.

By any chance, do you remember Lester Hudson? Yeah, he averaged 31-7-7 this year, so we can just about throw those numbers out.

Meanwhile, Brown’s 30-years-old and doesn’t really help the shooting problem: he shot a pedestrian 34% from 3-point range this season, and only hit 31% in his NBA career. I’m gonna mark Bobby Brown down as a “no.”
