Damion James:

27-years-old, Damion James was relegated to the D-League after nearly snagging the Washington Wizards’ 15th roster spot this preseason, which of course ended up going to Rasual Butler.

James excelled in the D-League and has since moved on to the Philippines, where he’s averaging 31 points and 14 rebounds for the Alaska Aces (who don’t actually play in Alaska, they’re named after a milk company.)

James is a 6-foot-7 forward with great athleticism and could serve as a stretch 4 in some lineups – he’s not a shooter, missing all six of his 3-point attempts in his 39 NBA games, but he brings a lot to the table.

He’s a good rebounder for his size and really gets after it on the defensive end, doing a lot of the things that the Wizards have been missing in the post-Trevor Booker era.

James was really impressive for this team in the preseason and would be able to slot right in, and he’s reportedly been on the team’s radar all season. I’d prefer someone who’s more of an offensive threat, but bringing him in wouldn’t be the worst move.
