9) Atlanta Hawks, Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver

The Atlanta Hawks were the best team in the Eastern Conference this past season (during the regular season, of course).

While most of their success coach be attributed to coach Mike Budenholzer, Al Horford‘s return and DeMarre Carroll‘s emergence, their backcourt was also very impressive.

Jeff Teague has improved every season since he’s entered the league. He made the All-Star team for the first time in his career last season, and while it would be kind of surprising if he makes it again, he’ll probably continue to improve with a bigger role.

With Carroll gone, the Hawks are going to need their point guard to carry more of the offensive load. I expect his scoring numbers to increase steadily going forward.

Kyle Korver is arguably the best shooter in basketball today and I don’t expect him to lose that skill anytime soon. Like Teague, I’d be surprised if he makes the All-Star team again, but the sharpshooter will continue to be one of the most consistent outside threats in league history.

Based on consistency alone, Teague and Korver should be mentioned in the top-10 backcourts. Next season shouldn’t be much different.
