5) Phoenix Suns, Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight

I’m a big believer in upside, especially if the player has shown an ability to grow. That’s exactly what the Phoenix Suns’ duo has: upside.

Both Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight would’ve been considered All-Star caliber players if they played half a decade ago. Now that we’re in the Golden Age of point guards, Bledsoe and Knight are often overlooked.

Since we’re ranking the best backcourts heading into next season, I think it’s tough to leave the Suns’ duo out of the top 5. Last year they didn’t have much time to gel and failed to make the postseason after the team dealt Goran Dragic to the Heat.

This upcoming season should be different. The team will rely heavily on both Bledsoe and Knight. They’re both capable of running the team, but more importantly, they also have a lot of potential together. Bledsoe and Knight are solid on both ends of the floor and possess a lot of upside.

I’m a lot higher on the duo than most. Bledsoe has all the talent and tools to become an All-Star and Knight probably should’ve replaced Wade in the All-Star game last year. With a full season, Bledsoe and Knight could potentially take the Suns to the playoffs in the tough Western Conference.
