The Washington Wizards desperately need rim protection ā someone whoās going to put themselves out there and isnāt afraid of getting on a poster or two.
Greg Stiemsma is that guy.
I donāt know if you guys can remember this, but John Wall dunked on Stiemsma pretty hard a few years ago. And if you donāt remember, here you go:
Stiemsma, like Hollins, was close to making an NBA roster before the start of the regular season but just didnāt make the final cut. Heās played all over the place, really. Stiemsma suffered an ACL sprain and there havenāt been many updates regarding his situation. For the sake of this, weāll pretend that heās healthy and ready to go.
Heās averaged over one block per game for his career and isnāt afraid of putting his body out there. Stiemsma isnāt the most graceful big man in the world, but he hustles, runs the floor well ā and most importantly ā isnāt a hindrance on the court.
If Stiemsma is available, Ernie Grunfeld should at least pick up the phone to see what heās been up to.
