DeRozan is an established All-star in the Eastern Conference who is in the midst of a career season.  Whereas he isn’t the ideal three point shooter to compliment John Wall and space the floor, his ability to create his own offense and get to the free-throw line would be a great addition to the team.

In his seventh season and going on 27 before next season, it’s safe to say that while there could incremental growth and improvement in efficiency, DeRozan is who he is as a player: an All-star and not a franchise player.

Does he make the Wizards a Contender?  6.2

While DeRozan is not a franchise player, he is a good player and he, alongside with fellow All-star Kyle Lowry, have the Toronto Raptors currently seeded second in the Eastern Conference.

The Raptors have not had postseason success, so it will be interesting to see if their fortunes chance in the coming players but as part of a core of good players, DeRozan could be part of a team that challenges Cleveland for the Eastern Conference Championship.

DeMar DeRozan isn’t a household name having spent his entire career north of the border, but is an All-star who would help the Wizards contend in the Eastern Conference, which in turn should signify to fans that the Wizards are going for it.  T

Also according to this list, DeMar DeRozan is amongst the up-and-coming players in regards to jersey sales.  That being said, on a stand-alone basis he loses the battle versus Chik-Fil-A.
