Hey, Jocelyn! It’s always nice seeing you pop up in my mentions. Thanks for the continued support.

You asked me to play Nostradamus for the day. Admittedly, I’m pretty bad at making predictions, but Ernie Grunfeld has a history.

When the Washington Wizards needed a center, he traded for Marcin Gortat. When they needed a stretch four, he got Markieff Morris. When they needed a backup point guard, he called the Nuggets and traded for Andre Miller. The list, really, is endless. For as much hate as Grunfeld gets, he’s made some solid trades for the Wizards.

I don’t expect anything different this season. Washington needs a scoring guard and they’ll probably get one. Who? Well, that’s almost impossible to answer. I haven’t spoken with anyone who has inside knowledge, so this will be a pure guess.

Washington was rumored to have interest in Will Barton. The Nuggets are focused on giving their young players time on the court and Barton probably isn’t a part of their core. He’s averaged double-digit points over the past few years and he’s a solid defender. He’s everything that Brooks would want in a sixth man.

So, that’s my prediction. Barton will be a member of the Washington Wizards by the end of February 23. Washington would probably have to trade their first round pick, but it might be worth it.
