Trade target: Bojan Bogdanovic

Bogdanovic has been one of the most talked about names this week.  He is averaging 14 points on the season, the highest of his career.  While he’s not a great defender, his 6’8” frame enables him to play positions 2 through 4.

His team, the Nets, are looking to clean house, because of their extreme lack of assets.  They famously have a pick swap with the Celtics this year, while Boston owns their first round pick outright next year.

Brooklyn, smartly, no longer cares about trying to win games to hurt the Celtics. With Bogdanovic being a restricted free agent, he could command $10+ million per year this summer.

Even with his impending free agency, his subpar defense, and his drop in 3-point shooting, Bojan would still be a big upgrade for the bench.

We’ve also seen countless times that the passing ability of John Wall can help a player improve his 3-point shooting.

With Bogdanovic being a hot name, and the Nets maybe holding out to a first round pick, there is potential that the Nets wait until closer to the deadline for the best deal available.

In the end, I think a player plus two second round picks gets a deal for him done.  The final consideration in trading for Bogdanovic, is that Burke + picks works salary cap wise, however, that would mean leaving Tomas Satoransky as the only point guard off the bench.
