Washington Wizards signed forward Devin Robinson to a “two-way” contract on Thursday, according to reports. Find out more about the newest Wizard.

That’s it. Well not exactly, but with the Washington Wizards signing Devin Robinson to a “two-way” contract on Thursday, the team now has a full roster of 17 players. The news of the signing was first reported by The Washington Post.

Robinson joins Michael Young as the Wizards’ selections for the “two-way” designation. Robinson, a 6’8″ forward from the University of Florida, has been playing on the Wizards’ summer league team during the last week.

His statistics in summer league of 3.3 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 18FG%, and 1.3 BPG, won’t blow anyone away, but the team saw enough in minicamp, games, and his college history to bring him on to the roster.

In college, Robinson was described as a deer by his coach, and averaged 11.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game and shot 39.1% from three. DraftExpress ranked him 52nd on its last mock draft.

In his DraftExpress profile, they use the following exciting description of Robinson’s potential.

"NBA scouts and executives travel the globe searching for forwards with size, length, athleticism, defensive versatility, and shooting potential. The game is as small as ever, and finding a reliable combo forward is a priority, making a player in the mold of Florida junior Devin Robinson an appealing option outside of the top forward prospects in the 2017 NBA Draft."

Both Robinson and Young will likely spend time with the Delaware 87ers since Washington does not yet have a G-League team.

Considering the team’s lack of young talent, hitting on a “two-way” player would be huge for the Wizards. There’s one game left in summer league, and then we’ll have to wait until the team’s training camp in Richmond in September, to learn more about how the players fit into the Wizards’ plans.

Hopefully Young and Robinson can shine in the final summer league game, improve during the end of the summer, and be ready to contribute come time for camp.
