Washington Wizards fans remember him fondly, and his story is great enough that it will be retold on the big screen in the near future. Caron Butler has a Mark Wahlberg produced biopic on the horizon, and it appears the film is now looking for its director.
Tuff Juice, aka Caron Butler, will forever be linked to the Washington Wizards. His two All-Star seasons came in Washington, as did his prime years. He’s still so connected to the Wizards that he appears to be a major finalist for the vacant CSN Washington Broadcasting seat alongside Steve Buckhantz.
According to TMZ, Mark Wahlberg is in search of directors for the upcoming Caron Butler biopic, including big names Peter Berg, Spike Lee and Barry Jenkins. The story says that the first draft of the script has been completed and that Wahlberg will have a “major role” in it.
The as of now unnamed movie, will touch upon Butler’s remarkable story from child drug dealer, to NBA star. He’s already written a book, titled Tuff Juice: My Journey from the Streets to the NBA, and spoken on his turnaround countless time on TV.
It’s unclear how much if any of the movie will involve the Wizards. The book goes deep into his time in the NBA, and includes some “juicy” details on gungate, that ex-teammate Gilbert Arenas disputed. Definite recommended reading for Wizards fans.

Good luck to Butler and the production team as pre-production and filming get underway.
