Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors: Comparison
SMALL FORWARD
Otto Porter Jr. Vs. C.J Miles
If Dwayne Casey decides to start Norman Powell, he would occupy the shooting guard spot and DeRozan would slide up to the 3. But C.J. Miles makes a lot of sense here.
Acquired in the offseason for Cory Joseph, Miles is one of the better shooters in the league. On 5.4 attempts last season, Miles shot 41.3% from three. Although he’s one-dimensional offensively, Miles is also a versatile defender. He’s adept at guarding positions 2-4, and doing so well. He fits well in the Raptors lineup as a 3&D specialist.
But Otto Porter Jr. contributes in far more ways.
Last season, Porter averaged more points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Porter also has the edge over Miles in FG% (51.6% to 43.4%) and 3PT% (43.4% to 41.6%). Porter can defend just as well as Miles, and even better. He’s more athletic and versatile on both ends of the floor.
This one isn’t too tough of a call.
ADVANTAGE: Otto Porter Jr.
