Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving is an offensive weapon, deployed to rip the hearts out of opposing teams. He is a born assassin, with one of the most unique and extremely complete offensive repertoires in the game. He possesses the ability to handle the ball, take it inside, and exquisitely finish and shoot from nearly anywhere on the floor, making him a deadly offensive threat.

During the offseason, Irving made it clear, that he has the ability to lead his own squad.

However, It still remains to be seen if Irving can handle the pressure of leading a team, now that he’s not playing alongside LeBron James. Even if he continues to average 25 points a night, to be considered for MVP, he will not only have to elevate his game, but also that of his teammates.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

The final candidate for MVP is the 22-year-old, Giannis Antetkounmpo, better known as The Greek Freak. He has shown that he is the future of the Milwaukee Bucks. However, the main concern isn’t his production — he lead his team in all 5 statistical categories. Neither his health, because he’s played an average of 79 games per season.

The concern is whether or not his teammates will be able to stay healthy. Players like Jabari Parker and Khris Middleton are extremely valuable to the Bucks’ success. If they are able to help the Bucks become a top three seed in the East, then the MVP for Antetokounmpo could be in reach.

Next, we discuss the candidates who are in the running for the MVP every year. These players display a certain level of excellence every single game, don’t cheat the game in any way, nor cheat their teammates. They are the ones who, by any means, try to lead their teams to a victory every single night. Creating a strong and sensible case for why these players shouldn’t win MVP was a bit more difficult, but it was done nonetheless.
