Why Westbrook won’t Win MVP

With the additions of Carmelo Anthony, a career 19.5 Field Goal Attempts per game (FGA), and Paul George, a career 14 Field Goal Attempts, the opportunities for Westbrook won’t be there as much as they were last year.

He will have to share the ball and in the clutch, Both George and Anthony can create shots for themselves or others. Unless, Westbrook can pull off another triple-double season—which I don’t doubt—the chances of him winning this year are small. But the probabilities of winning a championship have increased significantly.

Why Curry won’t Win MVP

This honestly has to do with the selfless team-first style of basketball Golden State plays, and the post-championship effect Kevin Durant will have in the league. Other than that, Stephen Curry has the all the skills, swagger and confidence to rake in his third MVP in four years. However, the team is absolutely loaded. While Coach Steve Kerr will make sure that the pursuit of another championship, rather than the MVP, is the main priority of the team.
