On Tuesday, the NBA announced, that the Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. From their Christmas Day victory over the Celtics to their win against Chicago on Dec. 31, the league has taken notice of the elite guard.

This season, Beal has been playing as a man on a mission. The goal for this team is the Conference Finals. He has adjusted his off court comments, from being the “best team in the East”, although he still believes that, to letting the ball speak for him.

He has changed his game from being just a knockdown 3-point shooter, to getting a basket by any means necessary. It’s almost as if the shooting guard has started playing positionless basketball. Instead of seeing Marcin Gortat or Ian Mahinmi grab a rebound over other bigs, it’s Beal in the middle.

Instead of John Wall doing a circus pass to his teammate for an easy bucket, there’s Beal. He has become a “man for all seasons” on the floor.

For his winning week, Beal “averaged 26.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting .467 from the field and .387 from three-point range to lead Washington to a 3-1 record”.

On some nights, the sharpshooter is the most aggressive player on the floor as he drives to the rim, for an and-1.

He has an unbridled will and determination, that no matter how his other teammates are playing, he’s going to bring home the win.

His confidence is unmatched, and he’s his own biggest critic. Although, he nearly hit a triple double against Chicago, he was still frustrated with himself when he missed a pair of free throws.

Against the Houston Rockets on Friday, I wrote that:

"“The NBA should just hand Bradley Beal his All-Star spot, because he’s been on a tear this season. Ripping up the court, shooting threes and aggressive drives to the basket.”"

Because Houston definitely wasn’t cleared for takeoff after Beal got through with them.
