On Saturday, the Washington Wizards headed to warmer climes to take on the Orlando Magic. However, it was Tomas Satoransky who heated up, having the best night of his NBA career.

The Wizards having won the last two meetings between the teams, were also looking for their fourth-straight win after beating the Raptors on Thursday.

Washington continued their winning streak, blowing out the Magic, 115-98.

The Wizards were without John Wall (knee surgery) and Mike Scott (flu-like symptoms).

The depleted Magic were without Aaron Gordon (hip), Nikola Vucevic (hand surgery), Terrence Ross (knee sprain), and Jonathan Isaac (out indefinitely).

Earlier in the day, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reported, that Jodie Meeks was seeking a trade ahead of the February 8 deadline.

Great start for the starters

In the first half, four of the Wizards starters were in double digits. However, Marcin Gortat only had two points, but he was able to pull down six rebounds. The Polish Machine would later heat up.

Orlando outscored Washington 26-18 in paint points. While neither team was shooting the three-ball well. Washington was 3-for-13 from downtown. With Orlando was 5-for-15.

Unfortunately, the Wizards bench was outscored by Orlando’s 23-9.

Nonetheless, the ball movement was fantastic for Washington. They had 18 assists to the Magic’s 9. The scoreboard reflected this with the Wizards up 56-47 going into halftime.

Satoransky stepping up

Tomas Satoranksy would have a career night in Orlando. He had a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter to extend the Wizards’ lead.

During the third stanza, he already tied his career-high of 17 points. By the end of the third quarter he would have a new career-high of 19 points.

Sato played with confidence with both his outside and inside shots.

Sato appeared very comfortable out on the perimeter, perfect from the three-point line, 3-for-3.

Sato finished the game with 19 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds and only 1 turnover.

Wizards beat the team they’re supposed to beat

The Magic are second-to-last in the East. Not only did Washington beat the sub-.500 team, they blew them out. The Wizards crushed them before back in December, 130-103.

The Wizards started the game with high energy and never left their foot off the gas. By the third quarter, the game was already headed for a blow out with Washington up 87-69.

Washington also started shooting more threes during the second half. Otto Porter who led all scorers with 20 points, had three shots from 3-point range.

The starters, with the exception of Porter for a few minutes, didn’t play the fourth quarter.

Bradley Beal continued his career season with almost a triple-double with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

Markieff Morris‘ efficient shooting continues with 16 points, 7-for-10 from the field. While Gortat would record a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wizards were great from the free throw line shooting 88.9 percent. In addition, they had 35 assists.

On Monday, the Wizards travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers.
