Brooks doesn’t believe it was mental fatigue, but the Wizards just couldn’t protect the ball. Most of the turnovers didn’t occur through errant passes, but simply while a Wizard player simply dribbling the ball, and a Warrior would sneak up behind to steal it. Golden State had 10 steals.

Those turnovers were very costly for Washington. Turning the ball over 18 times, Golden State capitalized with 26 points. They are the last team you want to hand the ball over to.

If it wasn’t mental fatigue, then maybe it was physical. Whatever the cause, Bradley Beal had five of those turnovers.

The Warriors turned it over 14 times, and the Wizards converted with 15 points.

Porter had this to say after the game:

"“They just knocked down shots and we kind of mentally broke down a bit. Simple mistakes on our part.”"

On why the Wizards have a problem protecting the ball:

"“We just have to take our time. A lot of turnovers on our part rushing things.”"
