Washington Wizards Three Takeaways: Andre Drummond too much for Wizards

The Washington Wizards had a chance to clinch a playoff berth in Detroit tonight. But Andre Drummond had other plans, crashing the boards with 24 points and 23 rebounds. The Pistons beat the Wizards, 103-92.

On Thursday, the Washington Wizards traveled to Detroit, for the fourth and final matchup between these two teams.

Washington won the previous three matchups. With a win tonight, the Wizards would clinch a playoff berth.

Detroit was without Blake Griffin (ankle contusion), so Anthony Tolliver would get the start.

While John Wall appears to be on the verge of returning to the lineup. Although he didn’t play, he suited up for the game.

The Wizards are coming off a very strong win against the Spurs, and were looking to keep that momentum going.

Going into halftime the game was knotted at 49, but the Wizards didn’t turned up the energy until the fourth quarter. There was still plenty of time to pull out the win, but the Wizards appeared and played dejected.

They had a chance to sweep the season series against the Pistons. However, Andre Drummond had other plans, crashing the boards with 24 points and 23 rebounds, the Wizards would fall to the Pistons, 103-92.

Although they didn’t clinch the playoff berth tonight, they still have another chance on Saturday.
