Value in Valancuinas

At the opening tip Marcin Gortat was called for the foul one second into the game. He would then pick up his second foul at the 9:16 mark. He was just no match for Jonas Valanciunas.

After Gortat picked up those two quick fouls in the first quarter, Ian Mahinmi would have to check into the game.

Mahinmi would also pick up two quick fouls. The Wizards now down both of their centers, Mike Scott would have to come in and play the middle.

Valanciunas was a problem for Washington. He had 7 points and 4 rebounds to finish the first stanza. Although he finished the game with 9 points, the damage was already done.

While OG Anunoby who averaged 5.9 points during the regular season, had 8 points, including two-3 pointers, leading all Raptors scorers in the first quarter.

John Wall had to take over, where he was perfect from the 3-point line, 2-for-2. However, the Wizards were outrebounded 11 to 5 to end the first frame.
