As the Washington Wizards prepare for the 2018 NBA Draft, the Washington Capitals are on a championship run in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Although this is a Wizards site, we are all still #DCFamily. So it would be remiss for me not to point out how Ted Leonsis gave the City of Washington a free treat on Saturday evening.

Prior to tipoff to Game 3 of the Stanley Cup, the Capitals hosted a free pregame concert by Sting and Shaggy. As if the city wasn’t hot enough.

Mr. Leonsis, who had a birdseye view, posted this on Twitter:

So as we anxiously await who the Wizards pick in the draft, let us enjoy the historic run that the Capitals have embarked upon.

The Wizards have two picks this year, the 15th and 44th overall pick. We hope they keep at least the first-round pick. However, if they trade both picks. We can all sing:

The Wizards will get their place in the sun again. When they do, there will be no need for a pregame concert, because everyone will be singing.

Until that time comes, let us enjoy the happiness that has pervaded Washington, the one thing that unites us all—the love of sports.

Let us not rain on the parade, just because the Wizards didn’t make it this season. Let’s cheer on the Capitals. So this City can have the parade it so rightfully deserves.

Go Caps. Go Wizards and Go all fans. Whether it’s the NHL, NBA, WNBA or your local sports league.

We will soon return to our regularly scheduled program, keeping our eyes on the NBA Draft.
