Why hasn’t Beal arrived?

It may be the air of inconsistency that surrounds him. Beal had flashes of greatness in the 2017-18 NBA season. His ability to spot-up shoot has always been present.

In addition, he has become a better shot creator, as 52 percent of his field goals came unassisted—up from 40.2 percent from last season.

However, there are also times when Beal’s off-ball movement becomes stagnant and he’s rendered useless during a possession.

Throughout Wall’s absence, Beal pulled off an incredible run with the Wizards—until the team regressed.

An “Everybody eats” battle-cry became a controversy and the shooting guard lost control of his team’s destiny, which resulted in a costly Number 8 seed in the playoffs.

Beal is Washington’s most lethal scorer. There should be no doubt about that. However, to be placed with the elite company of guards, he has to be so much more . Being left out of the All-NBA conversation may not have been a blunder. It is up to Beal to change that narrative.
