The notion that the Washington Wizards are one piece away from being a contender is true. They have the pieces with John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter, Jr. to make a serious playoff push. But it’s not enough to make it to their Conference Finals. Thus, here’s a case why LeBron James should come to Washington.

This is not an article I ever contemplated writing—Where LeBron James should go in free agency? But if he chooses not to go out West, then the Wizards provide the best chance of beating the Warriors.

Last season, I wrote all roads lead through Boston for the Wizards to reach the conference finals and meet up with the Cavaliers. That was true again this season, however, the Wizards didn’t make it past the first round with the Raptors.

There is some speculation, that if James were to leave the Cavs that he would join the Celtics. That is not going to happen. Not getting into the “why’s” of why Kyrie Irving left Cleveland, but that’s a nonstarter for James in Boston.

The Celtics are off the table.

Then the Sixers come into play. That is a viable option. Therefore, we have to make the case why the City of Washington is a better landing spot for James.

But the money issue has to be addressed, so let’s look at the numbers.
