The Washington Wizards made a few moves this offseason. However, for the 2018-19 NBA Season, John Wall doesn’t want to be the best player in the East, he wants to be MVP.
John Wall of the Washington Wizards has coined his 2018 offseason as the “Summer of Separation”. As part of his training, he’s kept a video diary, which also includes his goals for the 2018-19 NBA Season.
According to the five-time All Star, he ‘doesn’t want to be the best player in the East, he wants to be MVP’.
Wall believes that if he doesn’t have any problems (i.e. injuries), that MVP is within his reach. In addition, Bradley Beal doing well will also help. “On top of all that we’re going to be a higher ranked team”.
In the video, Wall breaks down why James Harden and Derrick Rose received that accolade, and part of it had to do with their team’s seeding.
According to Wall, Harden received the MVP last season, because Houston was the number one seed. If Houston finished second, then LeBron James would have been MVP.
‘Harden could have had a “hell of a year” but if the Rockets finished second, then he wouldn’t have got the award.’
While Rose averaged 25 points during his 2011 MVP campaign. The Bulls finally beat out Miami for the top seed in the East. That’s why Rose got it that year.
Well, well, well. So if Wall believes being the top seed will bolster his chances at MVP, then he’s pushing for the Wizards to grab that spot.

Shifting gears, I wanted to address the recent Sports Illustrated article about Dwight Howard, which mentions that Wall is lazy:
