Washington Wizards: NBA 2K19 Ratings Leaked for Wizards Starting Lineup
By Montel Davis
Thanks to a tweet by YouTuber, Mike Korzemba, the Washington Wizards now know their projected starting lineup ratings for NBA 2K19.
The start of a new season is a little over two months away, but basketball fans can catch their first glimpse of the 2018-19 NBA season with the help of NBA 2K19. With the release date set for September 11, 2K Sports celebrated their 20th anniversary with their 2K19 Launch Party, Wednesday night, in New York City.
While stars and fans enjoyed their first look at the highly anticipated game, ratings for each NBA team’s starting five were leaked thanks to a tweet by Basketball YouTuber, Mike Korzemba.
According to the tweet posted by Korzemba, the Washington Wizards looked like a top 10 team heading into the 2019 season, with four of its five starters receiving a rating of 80 or higher.

Receiving the highest evaluation from 2K Sports amongst his teammates is point guard John Wall. Despite coming off an injury prone season, Wall received an 89 overall for the second straight year. Wall’s rating places him as the second-best point guard in the Eastern Conference, trailing only Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics.
Following Wall for the second highest rating on the team is his backcourt mate, Bradley Beal, who received an 87 overall after his career season in 2018.
Washington’s 3 and D forward, Otto Porter Jr, and newly acquired all-star center, Dwight Howard, both received an 81 overall to start the year. Coming in with the lowest rating of the starting five is forward Markieff Morris with a 77.
Of all the ratings listed above, the biggest surprise from the Wizards’ 2K overall was Howard. His 2K rating decreased by a point from the previous year, despite the fact Howard is coming off his most productive season since 2014 as a member of the Houston Rockets.
With the Charlotte Hornets, Howard averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 81 games. If anything, 2K should have given Howard an overall of 84, the same as Rockets big man, Clint Capela.
Yes, Capela had a phenomenal season last year and played a huge factor in the Rockets’ 65-wins. But his production and overall value in Houston do not equal the on-court production to that of Howard.
However, much like Capela, Howard’s 2K rating will improve as the season progresses playing in a system that features an all-star backcourt of Wall and Beal.
The release of NBA 2K19 is less than two weeks away on all gaming consoles. For fans who cannot wait to get a head start in this year’s MyCareer, the 2K19 Prelude will be available for download on Friday, August 31 for PlayStation 4 and XBox One.
