Live by the three, die by the three:

Following the success of the Golden State Warriors in 2015, it seems as if every team in the league has adopted the philosophy, Live by the Three, Die by the Three. Every team, including the Washington Wizards.

Much like sharing the ball, Scott Brooks has made it the team’s priority to focus on improving their 3-point shooting this season, and the Wizards are doing all they can to live up to the philosophy.

However, unlike the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers who have found success living by the three, the Wizards may not be so lucky.

Yes, it is only preseason, but the Wizards do not look like a solid three-point shooting team going into the 2019 season.

After shooting 21.1 percent in Monday’s loss, the Wizards improved on their three-point shooting, as they shot 12-39 for 30.8 percent in Friday’s win. Unfortunately, the shooting did not come from the Wizards’ primary players.

Bradley Beal and Otto Potter shot 4-15 from behind the arc, while John Wall, who is not known as a three-point shooter, went 0-5 from downtown.

Although it’s the new norm of the NBA, perhaps it will be in the Wizards best interest to find a new way to be successful in the league.

The Wizards will take their preseason on the road to the Big Apple, as they face the New York Knicks Monday, in Madison Square Garden. To stay up to date on all things Wizards this season, be sure to follow Wiz of Awes throughout the season.
