3. Devin Robinson is the future

Devin Robinson finished the final preseason game with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and went 9-11 from the floor. He hasn’t had a lot of chances to shine, but he made the most of his opportunity Friday night against the Long-Lions. In the limited time he’s played he’s earned himself a future roster spot.

Unfortunately, Robinson signed a two-way contract with Capital City Go-Go and the Wizards. This will allow us to only see glimpses of Robinson during some of the regular season. The rest of his time will be played in the G-league.

Long-Term this will be good for both Robinson and Washington. The roster is deep this year and it would be tough for Robinson to get productive minutes. This way, it allows him to get more experience at being a star in the G-league.

He’s arguably one of the most athletically gifted players on the entire roster. It disappointing to be unable to have this type of talent on the final roster. Take a look at his high-flying capabilities.

This wasn’t the only mesmerizing dunk that he had Friday night. From what he showcased against the Long-Lions, Robinson deserves to be in the dunk contest!.

Robinson was all over the floor and brought an energy that Washington’s young talent fed off throughout the game. This is exactly the type of role that he could bring to the Wizards roster for the regular season.

It’s obvious that Robinson is an energy guy. He enters the game, makes a spectacular dunk, and gets his teammates and crowd hyped. These are some intangibles that can’t be weighed by stat sheets.

It would be nice to see him as much as possible for the Wizards this season, but he demonstrated why people should be watching the Capital City Go-Go this year.
